This years Redbridge Carnival was a huge success! Over 7000 people turned up on the Sunday and events included a funfair, free Circus Skills Performance and workshop, Free sporting activities, dance, singing and drama performances on two stages, free DJ Workshops, International food and international stalls including craft and design. This years event had by far the most diverse performances and crowds of any event in Redbridge and was a great opportunity for the Asian Christian Community to make themselves heard and to witness to the large number of Asian people at the event.
This said only one Asian Christian group came forward for this years event and that was every dedicated Uncle James Gill, who I personally believe to be one of the most influential people in my life. He is a dedicated and committed Christian and has a distinct and awe inspiring voice. He sang Zaboor and Hindi songs with the Group he assembled on short notice and thrilled the crowds of people at our event. He has never sought a crown and one of the most genuine humble people you will ever meet. It is figures like him that we need to mould the next generation as his word of wisdom are suffused with the spiritual confidence of one in constant prayer.
Redbridge Carnival is a secular event that is chaired by an Asian Christian (me), and although we had many other acts such as the wonderful Michael Jackson "Thriller" dance tribute by Alexandra School of Performing Arts (pictured). That should not create a reticence for Christian Groups to attend and other Christian Performers such as DDT (rapper from Islington) and Pastor Jimmy Robinson -Potters House Christian Fellowship. Used their music and testimony to stir the harts of the amassed people before them. All praise be to God - Nevertheless please do inform me of any willingness to perform at next years, hopefully even bigger event.
Sounds great,I was really looking forward to going, shame I couldn't be there
