SOAS Pakistan Society and NUPSA have organised a memorial vigil for the late Federal Minister Shahbaz Bhatti and to support the minority communities of Pakistan. Wilson Chowdhry has been invited to speak at the event and we would encourage as many Pakistani Christians to support this gesture of unity, that is a most welcome collaboration with the student population of one of London's top universities.
The event details are as follows:
Date: Tuesday 8th March
Time: 17:00
Location: School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, Thornhaugh Street, Russell Square, London WC1H 0XG - The event will take place in the open space outside the main SOAS building.
Nearest Tube: Russell Square
The event will involve a candlelight vigil and candles will be lit at around 17:30. Please bring your own candles and do out to support this gesture of solidarity amongst all Pakistanis.
Wilson,
ReplyDeleteThank you for this notice, and for all your efforts to create awareness and solidarity with the people of Pakistan and the tumultuous situation there.
It is wonderful that you have this invitation to speak, and I pray that you will be able to give a unifying and edifying call to action.
Sorry that I won't be able to come tomorrow, as I'm away.
Manisha
Thank you Wilson.
ReplyDeleteWill be with you in the Spirit of Jesus. Unfortunately I'll not be there physically.
Shalom
Helen
Will be thinking of you all for this event.
